i'm giving up... i'm giving in
can you believe this is where i worked all summer?! who'da thought a golf course could look SO beautiful?
i always seem to miss it more after talking to you... i wonder why that could be? hahaha so i just remembered two of my favorite golfcourse memories, although there are so many more favorites than i could ever tell all of them. first was the day after a crazy rainfall... so much rain fell that night that the sewers overflowed, leaving some lovely debris on the course. and by 'lovely debris' i am referring to the shredded TP, the used condoms, the USED tampons, the dryer lint, and various other "goodies". ANYWHO, ben, neal, alex and i were sent to clean up said debris from 4 fairway. this was fun in itself because anyone who has ever met any of those guys knows just how fun they can be, but the best part was when neal and i went back after lunch, raked up the remaining stuff and then went to pick it up... now what was funny about this was that i had gloves and... neal didn't. so... HEY NEAL? remember that time that you picked up the pile of DIRTY USED TOILET PAPER with your bare hands? ahaha (it was mostly funny because of the utterly disgusted look he had on his face after i reminded him exactly what it was that he was picking up... sure seemed like my 'harder' way of using the rake as a shovel wasn't such a bad idea after all, eh?! heh) the second time was when i was working with 'somebody' and we were in the standard workman (a.k.a. the gator) and 'somebody' went to back up, and without really looking behind him... i mean, umm, it?... 'somebody' basically slammed down on the gas and almost MURDERED one of the old ladies... hehehe and then... (and perhaps this was on a different day... i can't be sure), the same 'somebody' noticed that i had put my seatbelt on while he (err...it) was driving and decided that i must've felt unsafe, and so to prove me right decided to go down the hill without touching the brakes at all... that is until we reached the corner and 'somebody' almost didn't turn in time and we almost DID DIE! bet you would've felt pretty good about yourself then, wouldn't you have?! hehe. i don't know why these specific memories came to me tonight... kinda weird.
and so, on a somewhat unrelated topic... i had decided today that i was giving up. yup... that was my plan... and then nothing. but sometimes it feels like i could give up and i would be okay with that. and then today... not so much.
