all signs were pointing to today being great! i mean, i'm on a ticket to ride winning streak (AHAHA! :P ), we were going to the waterpark, AND it was snowing... it doesn't get much better than that! in a review of the day i find that the only thing still goin' for me is my superb ability to play a boardgame (not exactly something to call home about... although that is actually something i would probably do. ha) the waterpark was good until i started getting water up my nose and realized that i had forgotten my nasal spray... though, i could've survived through that, as i've done it often before... the water in the nose was followed by a minor fall on the grating of the wavepool which resulted in a missing chunk of skin and a lot of blood :( not fun. i got all first-aid-ed up and carried on with the 'good times' until the chlorine began to sting and my knee began to throb almost unbearably. we moved onto the shopping portion of the day which was relatively uneventful for me and then headed to julios for dinner... WELL, let me tell you just how much i love driving in a foot and a half of snow on unplowed roads going to a restaurant where my only directions are "somewhere on 170th". it was "fun", to say the least, and i'm not ashamed to admit now that i'm a little more than surprised at how unscathed we came out of the ordeal. the 25 minute drive home turned into an hour AND while crossing the yellowhead i had a near collision with a civic spinning out of control along the highway... i was almost sure i was a gone-r but alas, i once again came out undamaged. thanks God. so you see... the day didn't go as smoothly as it could have, but in retrospect MOST of the happenings were fun, to some extent, and i am still alive so that's always a plus. AND the snow means that it will hopefully be cold a little longer, which means there is still a chance to go ice skating! YAYA!
