i had managed to build up a little excitement over beck by the end of my five hour drive (by myself...mostly) and when i got to caitlin's she did not want to go at all. she just thought it would be such a waste of money since she didnt know any beck songs and wasnt a fan at all. we went down to the orpheum and sold our tickets for $40 a piece, so together we're only out twelve bucks. wandered around robson for a few hours, saw a prostitute drenched in urine, got bird shit on my skirt...all around had a fantabulous night, finished off with some cards and bubble-tea. finally watched all of requiem for a dream without having to get up once (so nice to watch an entire movie with no stops :) ) and that is a really intense film...i enjoyed it though...well, enjoy isnt quite the right word to use but you get the idea.

saw ash yesterday in vanc. VERY COOL!

went to granville island too. that wasn't quite as exciting as i remembered it to be which was a let down but atleast i know not to plan for a whole day there again. this guy was singing italian opera on the street there. he had a suit with tails and everything...the "whole 26 yards"! very neat. and i even sampled some beer gellatto, and balsamic vinegar sorbetto. those are probably the weirdest ice creams i have ever tasted in my life, but definately an experience. im feeling very boring today...maybe because im so tired, or maybe im really just boring. in either case....
